Please join us in welcoming the newest addition to the Serenity teaching team, Emily Salnick! Emily has joined the Serenity teaching community as a sub, so you may be seeing her in your classes soon!
While exploring traditional yoga postures and practice, this class will consist of gentle warm-ups followed by slow-flowing posture sequences and core strengthening, interspersed with longer held asana. Breath is linked with movement as introspection and integration are emphasized. A longer, meditative cool down (savasana) completes the yoga experience.
About Emily:
Emily aims to teach inclusive classes while referring to the Yoga Sutras, human psychology and anatomy (e.g. the nervous systems) and by basing her teaching and practice on compassion. She is interested in trauma-informed practice and enjoys anything from meditation and gentle restorative classes to fiery vinyasa flows. Emily hopes to create an empowering space and is grateful for all who share their practice with her.
Emily is a registered 200-hour yoga teacher who graduated from My Vinyasa Practice’s training program. She is continuing on to a 300-hour training while completing graduate studies in Clinical Psychology at AIC. Emily was called to yoga as a teenager while she was working through life challenges and became more interested in including a spiritual practice in her life. She is passionate about honoring the roots of yoga, and aims to pass along knowledge of the history and philosophy of yoga while emphasizing movement, breath, and introspection as healing elements.
