Join us from 9-10am each day during the week of July 8th for yoga games, challenging and fun postures, breathing techniques and mindfulness exercises!
Each day will focus on a different theme that includes posters, cards, and games designed after children’s books.
Yoga can benefit children in many ways. Besides increasing flexibility and strength, it can help develop body awareness, build concentration and focus, increase confidence, and foster a positive body image. It can teach children a great alternative to the constant attachment to electronics that is common today. There is a growing body of research that has shown that yoga and mindfulness can improve memory, self-esteem, behavior, and can even reduce anxiety in children!
Ages 5-10 are welcome! Parents are welcome to join and support their kiddo, watch from the back, or wait in the lobby area.
Tracy McCarthy owns All Connected Wellness based out of Chicopee, MA. She has been in the education field for over 30 years specializing in Early Childhood. In 2020, the pandemic created a lot of mental, physical and emotional stress for her and her family, including her eighteen year old son who now needs to learn through a computer. She turned to a daily yoga practice to help her stay calm, focused and present in the here and now. She became yoga certified during 2020 and her goal is to help others find “normalcy” in a chaotic world through self care, focus and finding space to be present. She believes these are the things we need to in order to successfully make it through each day, taking are of ourselves, in order to take care of others.
