Roll with Me: Therapy Balls for Upper Back, Neck, and Shoulders

  • Serenity Yoga 17 College Street South Hadley, MA 01075 (map)

Teacher: Justine Budhram
Cost: $45 (15% Discount for Members)

Our Roll with Me! workshop will teach you how to treat your own muscles, joints, and fascia using therapy balls. The techniques learned in this workshop will focus on relieving pain, discomfort, trigger points, and tightness and increase the range of motion of the targeted areas. Participants will not only find less discomfort and more ease in their daily lives, but they will also notice increased performance in athletic and fitness activities. This workshop will focus on the upper back, neck, and shoulders. Participants will learn how to mobilize the joints of the upper spine and ribs, as well as how to release restrictions in the soft tissues of the upper back, neck, and shoulders. The techniques learned in this workshop can help relieve upper back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, tension headaches, TMJ, and more! These techniques are especially helpful for computer users, drivers, and anybody who has to sit for long periods of time. For athletes, this workshop is especially helpful for sports activities that require a good range of motion in the shoulders, i.e. swimming, running, Crossfit, golf, rock climbing, basketball, baseball, tennis, martial arts, and weight lifting.

You will need the following props for this workshop: two Tune-Up Fitness Classic Therapy Balls in their tote, a single Tune-Up Fitness Alpha Ball, a yoga block, and a blanket or towel. If you order therapy balls before the workshop, you will receive a 10% discount in your email after you register. If you would like to substitute other types of balls you might already have, two tennis or lacrosse balls and a sock to tie them in can substitute for the Classic Therapy Balls, and a softball can substitute for the Alpha Ball.

If you order your own Therapy Balls online, please email Michele to schedule a curbside pickup of your order at the studio prior to the workshop on 7/25.
