Yoga 101 for Guys: A Free Workshop

We get it – Yoga is for women, right?  Maybe that’s why 85% of people doing yoga are women and only 15% are guys.  But wait, Pierre is a guy – and he's a sports doctor!  And he knows why guys should do yoga. He started doing yoga when he was 50 with his older son who was a scholarship football player (hmmm… he’s a guy too), and he became an instructor at the encouragement of his scholarship soccer player son (who’s a yoga instructor – also a guy!).

Why do men say they don’t do yoga?

-“I’m too stiff” – that’s a great reason to start doing yoga!

-“it’s not a hard enough workout” – don’t worry, Pierre can change your mind about that!

-“I’ll be intimidated by people who can do all those hard poses” – well, so was Pierre (and most people!), but he's learned not to care.  And a good instructor helps you figure out what’s good for you.

- “I don’t want to say ‘OM’ or chant” – don’t worry, you don’t have to.

Today’s yoga combines “asanas” (postures), “pranayama” (breathing) and meditation. It’s the combination of these that sets yoga apart from other types of exercise and really contributes to all those health benefits.

In this workshop You’ll get a 60 minute yoga class with the chance to ask lots of questions about what’s going on.  During class you’ll learn “what stops me” from getting into those poses that look so easy for everyone else.
