A healthy spine supports overall health and well-being. Yoga therapy is a way of approaching health that includes not just the physical self, but also the energetic, psycho-emotional, and spiritual aspects of who we are. In this two-hour workshop we will practice somatic movements that enhance mind-body connection. We’ll explore the relationship between stress and pain, and practice techniques for calming the nervous system. Participants will learn self-massage techniques that enhance overall mobility, and yoga postures that help restore flexibility and strength in the muscles supporting the spine. The session will conclude with a guided relaxation practice to facilitate deep rest.
