Recipe for a Healthy Mind: A Mini Retreat with Insights from Buddhism and Neuroscience

TEACHER: BECKY ACABCHUK
COST: $60
IN PERSON ONLY

Join Becky for a transformative 3-hour mini retreat exploring the intersection of neuroscience and Buddhist wisdom. This immersive experience will include meditation, mindfulness, yoga, wisdom practices, journaling (no experience needed, all faiths are welcome!).

In a time of global uncertainty and upheaval, finding inner stability is more important than ever. This retreat offers a space to reconnect with yourself, cultivate resilience, and gain practical tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and compassion.

Throughout the retreat, Becky will share insights from her recent journey to Lumbini, Nepal—the birthplace of the Buddha—where she worked with 53 Tibetan monks and nuns, who generously shared their wisdom as they exchanged ideas about neuroscience and the mind. This work is part of a larger engagement, developed out of the Dalai Lama’s encouragement to bring these fields together in a shared effort to promote peace and well-being across the world.

By bridging ancient wisdom with modern neuroscience, we can foster a deeper sense of peace—both within ourselves and in the world around us.

Becky blends scientific insight with heartfelt wisdom in her yoga practice, guiding students to deepen their connection with body, mind, and heart. As a research scientist at the Mindfulness Center at Brown University and a human performance specialist at O2X, she brings a unique, holistic approach to her teaching. Known for her soothing guided meditations during savasana, Becky leaves students feeling fully refreshed and rejuvenated.
